CS: GO was released on 21 August 2021 as a multiplayer first person shooter game. When it was released it became the fourth game in Valve and Hidden Path Entertainment’s Counter-Strike series. Soon after its release, CS: GO quickly eclipsed its predecessor games in terms of popularity owing to its unique plot and gameplay.
When playing CS: GO, players are put into two groups, one for the Terrorists and the other for the Counter-Terrorists. There are different game modes each coming with its own exclusive game based objective. In all, CS: GO has eight game modes which are Competitive, Casual, Deathmatch, Arms Race, Demolition, Wingman, Flying Scoutsman, and Danger Zone. The Casual and Deathmatch modes are more like practice/demo games while the other six modes are all iterations of two specific gameplay action. The two specific gameplay action modes are as follows:
- Terrorists planting a bomb while Counter-Terrorists attempt to stop them
- Counter-Strike Terrorists attempting to rescue hostages that the Terrorists have captured.
Regardless of the mode the player chooses to play, at the end of a game round, depending on the player as well as the team’s performance, players are rewarded with in-game currency to spend on other weapons or utility in subsequent rounds. As a general rule of thumb, winning teams are rewarded more than losing teams.
